вЂњI stick closely to the structure of the myths,вЂќ he explains. вЂњMy readers are very detail-oriented, and if I make a mistake theyвЂ™ll call me on it.вЂќ But one guiding force is the original inspiration for the books. With a broad cast of players featured in his multiple series, how does an author keep track? вЂњI have to be careful,вЂќ Riordan says. ItвЂ™s all about how many I can get to, and which ones readers want to see the most.вЂќ IвЂ™ve got more than IвЂ™ll ever have time to write. вЂњIвЂ™d love to play around with that idea, and I always like to leave some room to create other adventures for my characters. вЂњI imagine theyвЂ™ll want more and start asking вЂWhereвЂ™s the rest? ItвЂ™s only a short story?вЂ™ вЂќ But Riordan has not yet decided on whether Carter and Percy will appear together in other projects. Riordan says heвЂ™s pleased with how the experiment turned out, and hopes his legion of devoted readers enjoys reading it. I started to experiment with how it would be to put them together and have them join forces against a common foe.вЂќ Carter is thoughtful and cautious and Percy is impetuous and sarcastic. They represent very different sides of me. In choosing the new workвЂ™s protagonists, вЂњI picked two that I know very well,вЂќ he explains. вЂњThere are a lot of gods and a lot of characters in my books,вЂќ he says. вЂњAt least once a day IвЂ™ll get an email or a letter asking вЂAre you ever going to combine the series?вЂ™ вЂќ So he decided to give it a try. вЂњItвЂ™s actually something the fans had been asking me for,вЂќ says Riordan.

Sobek was revered for his ferocity and quick movements however, he was an unpredictable deity, as were his crocodile counterparts, He was sometimes associated with chaos. Some ancient Egyptian sects believed that Sobek created order in the universe and the world when he arose from the вЂњDark WaterвЂќ and that he was the creator of the Nile River.

He was the lord of the crocodiles and was depicted with a crocodile head. Sobek was among the oldest deities named in the Pyramid Texts, the texts inscribed on the walls of tombs.
